According to CEOWORLD Magazine, The Philippines ranks as the third-best country in the world to investment or to do business for 2019. It came after Malaysia which rank #1 and Poland which rank #2. Then next to the Philippines is Indonesia Rank #4 and Australia Rank as #5. These are the top 5 among 67 countries.
The Rankings were based on the information and statistical surveyed data on different factors: Taxes, Infrastructures, Investor safety, workforce, freedom (personal, trade, and monetary), quality of life, red tape, and technological readiness. These factors were equally weighted and classified under the categories of Government policies, skilled labour Force, Economic Stability, Institutional Framework, Market Potential, Education and Research and Trade Openness
The Philippines ranking breakdown in these following factors first is Skilled Labour Force and Institutional Framework( 85 points for both factors). The Philippine tied at 8th in Economic Stability(78 points), also tied at 15th in Government Policies(70 points), Tied at 15th spot for Education and Research (68 points), in Market potential also tied at 22nd spot which is (60 points), in Trade Openness its (73 points) tied for the 10th spot. The Philippines received the same score as the US in Labour Force and also tied to Turkey and Saudi Arabia in the Institutional Framework.
Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand are the founding members of the Association of Southeast Asia nation or known as (ASEAN) and they all ranked in the top ten best countries to invest. The ASEAN is planning to form a single economy along with the rest of its members – Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos
While India, Czech Republic, Spain Complete the top ten. While the country such as the United Kingdom, The United States, China, and Japan Ranked 16th, 24th, and 32nd, respectively, among the world’s best countries to invest or to do business this year 2019.
